RISC-V and EuroHPC:
Powering Europe’s Future in High-Performance Computing

The EuroHPC JU is building a long-term roadmap centered on RISC-V to advance chip design for HPC. As an open ISA, RISC-V is a key pillar of Europe’s technological strategy, marking a fundamental shift toward greater autonomy in processor and accelerator development. By embracing RISC-V, Europe fosters innovation through open architectures and advanced node technologies. The EuroHPC ecosystem is actively developing RISC-V-based processors and accelerators to strengthen the EU’s position in the semiconductor industry. This talk will explore how RISC-V-driven initiatives shape the HPC ecosystem, accelerating innovation, and reinforcing Europe’s long-term sovereignty and leadership in semiconductor technologies.
